Site Verification

Overview

Site verification tags are used to prove ownership of your website to search engines and other online services and platforms. Each platform has its own guidelines for confirming site ownership.
You’ll find links to the relevant support pages directly in the picturemaxx Drupal CMS configuration area beneath each tag field. This makes it easy to access the platform-specific verification instructions.

Note

Website verification is important, for example, if you want to add your site to Google Analytics. Without confirming ownership, you won’t be able to access or manage these tool.

Verify ownership of the entire site

Many web services, such as Google Analytics, require you to verify ownership of your website. Adding a site verification meta tag at the global level ensures that ownership is confirmed for all pages across the site.

To add a site verification tag that applies site-wide:

  1. In the main navigation, go to Configuration > Search and Metadata > Metatag.
  2. Click Edit next to Global to open the metadata settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Site Verification section.
  4. Enter the verification code provided by the web service in the corresponding field.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
